Geotechnical Investigations

Comprehensive subsurface investigations to inform your foundation and earthwork design.

Understanding What's Beneath Your Site

Every structure is only as good as the ground it sits on. A geotechnical investigation reveals the subsurface conditions — soil types, bearing capacity, groundwater levels, and potential hazards — that drive every foundation and earthwork decision.

We design borehole programs tailored to your specific project, supervise all field work using trusted drilling partners, and deliver comprehensive reports with clear, actionable recommendations.

When You Need an Investigation

  • Before any new construction — residential, commercial, or industrial
  • Subdivision development and land planning
  • Building permit requirements
  • Foundation problems on existing structures
  • Septic field and PSTS assessments
  • Pavement and road design
  • Renewable energy installations (solar/wind foundations)

Our Approach

We start with a desktop study reviewing existing geological data, aerial photography, and any available subsurface records for your area. Then we design a targeted field program — not over-scoped to pad the invoice, not under-scoped to cut corners. The goal is the minimum investigation needed to make confident engineering recommendations.

Field work is supervised personally by the principal P.Eng. — the same engineer who interprets the data and signs the final report.
